JOB: Field Service Engineer At Emerson

• Formation of Ovation structure / Architecture
• Load and reload site ovation system and network troubleshooting
• Find, isolate, and analyze problems that arise in logic design
• Find, isolate, and analyze problems originating from the field, hardware errors and DCS
• Create and Maintain protocols for loop check, device check and panel charging
• Loop and device analysis and necessary changes in logic, graphics and database as per Customer / site requirements
• Supervise the construction and commissioning of DCS on site
• Establish DCS Network and configuration
• Work closely with GEC and global Emerson support team for troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting of DCS HW (eg Controllers, I/O Modules, DBS, OWS, EWS etc.)
• Configuration/troubleshooting of Historian, AMS and Advance Algorithms
• Enable third party communication eg ELC, SLC, Profi bus, SCADA & OPC etc.
• Installing and Configuring an Enterprise Database Server (EDS)
• Installing and Configuring an Enterprise Database Server (EDS)
• Regular updates to customer site, front office and GEC

A ADDITIONAL R RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead site activities independently, as needed
• Participate in customer meetings and front offices
• Prepare daily / weekly reports and MOM as required

E SEARCH:

• Design / Implementation of controls from SAMA / Functional diagram
• Executing graphics from sketches/snapshots
• Create/modify Ovation Internal Point Database
• Implementation of Simulation logics for First-Pass Test
• Setup virtual controller for testing purpose
• Testing implemented controls and graphics and troubleshooting while testing
• Follow the Department’s quality processes and procedures
• Scaling Open loops and closed loops according to the range of the HW database
• Use different Productivity tools like DBID tool, Audit Tool, Database Productivity Tool, Device builder etc.
• Convert controls and graphics of Third Party DCS/PLC systems to Ovation
• Third Party Communications
• Support Factory Acceptance (FAT) activities.
• In-house Ovation Server / Workstation loading
• Upgrade versions of ovation systems

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Power Engineering with

minimum 2 – 5 years experience in process industry preferably in power plant

• Basic knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and Power Plant/ Water and Wastewater process
• Good communication, interpersonal skills and drive for results
• Strong computer skills
• Able to work in a team
• Willing to travel in India and abroad
• Must be able to solve basic technical matters.
