The PMIC has various safety features including over-voltage protection, short circuit protection, thermal shutdown, under-voltage lockout, over-current detection, over-current shutdown and clamping circuit. In addition, Magnachip’s PMIC can control functions such as output voltage control, ON/OFF block, output voltage sequence management, protection circuit fault flag, and switching frequency transition. PMICs are suitable for use in a variety of battery-powered devices and handheld IT devices such as laptops and tablets that rely heavily on power efficiency.
